Sauna is widely loved in Lithuaniua, but men practice sauna-going more often then women. This discrepancy may be explained by what we often associate with sauna – excessive heat, (excessive) alchohol consumption, party celebration, etc. Not surprising, that women do not wish to share those kinds of “pleasures” with men. Especially, if one comes to sauna to celebrate – wearing an evening dress, high heels, and having done hair for the occasion.
